This review is specifically for Matt at the Baton Rouge location. This guy went beyond the extra mile for me when I had a major issue with a tent. For 4 months we stayed in touch while he worked with the tent company rep to ultimately resolve the issue. Whatever good can be done for Matt…he deserves it!! He displayed the epitome of customer service 😎👍!

The customer service here is fantastic! Sean M was incredibly helpful with my snow goggle order. Unfortunately, I received a case with no goggles inside and when I went back to the site, they were out of stock. Sean kindly found an existing pair and took care of everything and shipped them out to me the same day. Just amazing help and support and a great price on top of that! Couldn’t be happier with The Backpacker.

I shopped at the Baton Rouge location for years and am happy to have one in Mandeville. I love the products and the store! On a recent trip to the store an employee, Mahkai, was very informative and super friendly. I will recommend this location to everyone I know.

I was greeted and supported by Caydon who was exceptionally attentive, respectful, knowledgeable and honest. Although I was “just browsing”, because of her artful questioning, I left with 3 pair of OC tennis that absolutely love (see images below; *look close, they are not the same)! I found my new favorite store! Returning soon‼️

Rob & Nick were super helpful on the purchase of my new Ivory Dune colored Hobie Mirage Outback. Rob was great over the phone and Nick delivered it the very next day. The. Very. Next. Day!!! Now THAT is service!!! Awesome guys, Awesome kayak, Awesome company! I can’t say enough good about The Backpacker!!!

I was looking for some running shoes and I have a taste for On Cloud. The Back Packer came up as a dealer and so I had to check it out. It’s not your Cabelas or Bass Pro shop. They have a great selection of hiking camping, mountaineering, and just everyday lounging gear. Rob who was working in shoes was very helpful in taking care of my needs to even let me take the shoes upstairs and run around to get a feel for them. I would suggest a treadmill for the runners because that is how you will find out if the shoes will be a good fit. As I came downstairs Rob mentioned to show my Military credentials for a discount which was awesome that he recognized me. I also got to the counter and the clerk got me a decal that I could stick to my bike so that I could advertise the company like that. Yes I will be back for other things as they did have quite a bit to choose from. And I will recommend them to anyone who is looking for some outdoor gear.

I bought a vest that I loved which unfortunately got a rip. They were amazing to work with and got me a replacement after having it for less than a year. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
